I’ve been working with Kevin, the owner of Urban Light Studios, to create a video that showcases the fun and eccentric place this studio is, and the many different uses it has. Many people who are at Urban Light Studios for the first time tend to be amazed yet also puzzled by the space and how it can be used. This video is a nice way of showing the whole space, and the many ways people have been using it from small to large photoshoots, video shoots, parties, weddings, and more.
Working on this video was a fun project in terms of pulling many different pieces of footage together to tell a story. We took the primary footage in an afternoon a few weeks ago. I came back at various times to gather additional coverage and event footage, and the other day Kevin went through his vast collection of images shot at the studio to find stills that told the rest.
I ended up creating two different edits – one more traditional video edit, and one more graphic edit that is much denser in nature. I’m not sure yet which one I like more, they both have their own qualities and shortcomings.
