I had the pleasure to work with Myrriah again. We caught up during the October art walk which featured a print from an earlier project we had worked on together. After a few weeks of back and forth refining the concepts we wanted to work on, we put it all together a few days ago.
I have shot still images both on digital and film format for some time now. I recently decided to add motion imagery to my repertoire based on the fact that more and more clients are asking for both in this rapidly changing media world.
This shoot gave me an opportunity to play both with black & white film, a medium that despite its lack of color is very rich for editorial story telling, as well as video to add more dimension to the images. I like the idea of combining still and motion into a single end-result. A friend of mine just called it a photograph that keeps moving, which I thought was a nice description.
Here is the motion imagery, which combines stills shot on medium format B&W film and footage taken with an HD camcorder: Myrriah (contains nudity).
